Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord

A turn-based WWII tactical game set in Northwestern Europe from D-Day through May 1945, where players lead historically accurate forces from six nationalities into battle.

Combat Mission Beyond Overlord is the first game in the Combat Mission series. It recreates battles in Northwestern Europe from the June 6, 1944 Allied invasion of Normandy through the end of the war in May 1945.

Players can lead historically accurate forces from six nationalities: U.S., British, Canadian, Polish, French, and German. Battles take place on varied terrain in all weather and lighting conditions.

Combat is turn-based and uses the WeGo system, where both players submit orders and then watch a 60-second replayable movie of the results. The game includes stand-alone battles, connected battles, quick battles, an editor, and support for single player, two people on one computer, TCP/IP network connection, or PBEM.

It emphasizes planning, timing, suppression fire, feints, and flanking attacks rather than gamey tactics.
