Crusader Kings II

Grand strategy game set in medieval Europe, where you play a Christian lord’s dynasty, expanding your feudal domain, managing vassals and courtiers, and dealing with crusades, the Pope, and rivals.

Europe is in turmoil as petty lords compete with beleaguered kings for control of fragmented realms. The Pope calls for a Crusade to protect Christians in the Holy Land, while also refusing to give up control over the investiture of bishops and their riches.

Expand your demesne, secure your dynasty’s future, fill your coffers, appoint vassals, root out traitors and heretics, and introduce laws. You can also interact with hundreds of nobles, each with their own agenda.

Start a game at any point between 1066 and 1337 and play until 1453. Pick a Christian lord and guide his dynasty through successive generations, gaining Prestige with each character and facing plots, rival vassals, the Mongol Horde, and conflict with the Pope over bishops.
