The game presents a new narrative: Paul Atreides was never born and Duke Leto Atreides survived the assault on Arrakeen and is in a fierce conflict with the Harkonnen over control of Arrakis and its coveted spice. As players, you are sent to Arrakis to solve the mystery of the Fremen’s disappearance.

The game offers a range of features from learning survival tactics of the Fremen, crafting and building utilities for survival, to exploring the vast, dangerous worlds of Arrakis. Dune: Awakening also provides options for personalisation; creating a unique character and crafting from a wide selection including Fremen stillsuits to Harkonnen ornithopters and Atreides furniture.

As the game progresses, players can build structures from a temporary dwelling to sturdy fortresses, with a flexible building system all while discovering the Fremen’s hidden truths. The economic system of the game also allows players to trade and sell what they produce on a server-wide Exchange market.

A distinctive feature of Dune: Awakening is its broad social scale. Players can either choose to stand alone, collaborate, or compete with other survivors in the highly immersive and persistent online world. This multiplayer universe also supports the formation of guilds, alliances with the Atreides or Harkonnen, and a rise to power through ranking.

Power rests with the control of the Spice. Players, guilds, and the Great Houses battle for control over Spice sources to finance their ambitions. PvP battles aren’t imposed and players have the freedom of choice to participate.
