Knights and Merchants

Knights and Merchants is a Middle Ages strategy game about defending the last royal province and winning back the king’s former lands through complex economy and resource management.

After many battles, a former kingdom has been divided into many small principalities and earldoms. The king’s troops have been pushed back into one last royal province, while the rulers of the other provinces wage destructive wars against one another. The land has fallen into chaos, and the former royal capital is under siege by rebel armies.

You belong to the last remaining group of loyalists and have been ordered to go to the king in light of the imminent attack. A conspiracy against the king leaves the captain responsible for defending the last royal province, which is all that remains of the shattered kingdom. The king himself is threatened in his capital, and this is the starting point of the Middle Ages adventure.

Includes the original Knights & Merchants: The Shattered Kingdom and the expansion The Peasants Rebellion. It features a complex “daily life” economy and resource management, and there is no population cap, so the size of your army depends only on your ability to feed your soldiers.
