North & South is a strategy and action game set during the American Civil War, where you command armies, fight real-time battles, and take part in platform missions to preserve the Union.

North & South is a combined strategy and action game developed and published by Infogrames in 1989. It focuses on preserving the Union during the Civil War (1861–1865).

The game combines three modes: turn-based strategy, tactical real-time battles, and platforming missions. In strategy, you command operations, move armies, capture states, and control railways.

In battles, you use infantry, cavalry, and artillery to fight for victory. Platforming sections involve taking control of forts and hijacking trains.

It can be played in single-player mode, and also supports hot-seat play against another player.
