Port Royale is a Caribbean-set open-ended adventure where you choose a nationality, trade between cities, take missions, build a business or become a pirate, and command fleets in sea battles.

Explore the Caribbean Sea and towns in a game where the goal is to become Governor. You can choose from English, French, Dutch, or Spanish nationalities and follow assigned missions and tasks while shaping a character career path.

Players can buy maps to hidden treasures, find secret pirate hovels, trade between 60 cities, build a business, or become a pirate. The game also includes sea battles and the chance to command entire fleets.

It takes place in real historic locations and offers four time periods: 1570, 1600, 1630, and 1660. These timelines affect gameplay, and the world includes wars, disasters, and other dangers.
