Space Grunts is a turn-based, top-down rogue-like where battles and interactions are handled using a deck of cards.

Each game is uniquely generated from building blocks, so no two levels or sessions are the same. As you progress, you collect items for your inventory, including weapons, shields, and other items, and each item becomes a card in your deck.

When you encounter aliens, you engage in swift card battles, with the first card chosen depending on who attacks first. The game also randomly generates events, alternate routes, and effects for plant-spores.

It also includes unlockable extras such as Trinkets, Buff cards, and passive cards earned through challenges, multiple missions, and experience level.
