Fourteen warbands are available to play in online matches, bot matches, or single-player challenges. They are trapped in the Mirrored City of Shadespire, and each has unique abilities and a distinct combat style.

Deckbuilding is central to the game. Players use a 20-card power deck with gambits, upgrades, and spells, along with a 12-card objective deck that shapes tactical approach and scoring.
