Poor Colonel Renard, having to humble himself by asking for your help in re-acquiring one of his own outposts. Selling the Urban Mech gives the cash to modify the Starslayer and pick up 3 more Razorbacks, to get the team started in training and maneuvers. Some new recruits show up too, including already Sensor-trained Flash.

Directly North of your Drop Zone is Resource Building #1 . Capture it, duh. Then head West and capture the outside turret controls of Base South. There is a powered-down Fire Ant just outside the NorthEast corner of the enclosure who will power up when you go by, joined by some irritating Infantry.

Base South & Sensor controls

You can jump the walls here with your Razorback and let in your non-jumping mechs, or you can move South until you see the abandoned town, then North until you see Resource Building #2. An Urban, a Fire Ant and a few Centipedes may follow you out of the Base; melt them with your charms. Then capture the second Resource Building (this is a good opportunity to practice jump-capture moves, as the capture can take place while the mech is still overhead, saving you seconds of pounding) and the Sensor controls.

Aloha, resources!

Now head West to capture Resource Building #3. If your team is in good shape, forego repair and head North until you are across from Resource Building #4, which lies on an island just off the coast. Hop onto this island and secure the building, then island-hop East to Resource Building #5. Don't get too close to the walls of Base North.

Grab the turret controls of Gemini North

There are several ways to take the base. You can leap over the walls from Resource Island and take over the turret controls, which makes everything easier. Or you can jump up and target the fuel tanks sitting foolishly close to a main wall, or use the closer island to target the turret generators. Either way, with some care, you should be able to take the building with minimal damage. Several Urban Mechs at the front gate and 2 Fire Ants inside the base walls, along with various Centipedes and SRMs, will keep you hopping. Do not capture the Steiner HQ yet; leaving it til last will give you options later for salvage, or else you'll lose those RPs when the mission ends at the elimination of the last of the defenders.

Uh oh, Algebra, this is no place for you...

Just North and outside of the base are a few islands just off the coast of the small airstrip there. You'll also find a half-dozen Centipedes, several SRMs and the last Urban Mech. Eliminate them all. This should be the last of the defenders, but if it does not complete your objective, you may have missed an unarmed but sneaky Empty Cargo Truck that loops along the road at the far West of the map. Send someone back to terminate it.

When you've eliminated all opposition, even if you had to repair once, you have 50000 RPs available for salvage. So grab the Urban Mechs first <they're worth more> then Fire Ants. Then finally capture the Steiner HQ at Gemini North to end the mission.

Mission Pay: 50500 + salvage (4 Urban Mechs + 1 Fire Ant) + 2 afterscreen salvage = $$$$$$$!!!

Not bad for a little jaunt around the islands, eh? You can understand why salvage should be an integral part of your strategy! A good goal is to be able to afford to buy every mech you cannot salvage directly off the field - excepting those that went into terminal nuke 😊
